Grand Canyon National Park

The Grand Canyon National Park Collection, still in progress, is inspired by a four day rim-to-rim hike i took below the rim. all works are original gouache paintings based on photos i took in the park. Visitors at the Grand Canyon can hike the rim trail, while only 5% will hike below the rim.

Coconino Overlook

The famous Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hike begins at the more remote North Rim, at the North Kaibab Trail. At the Coconino Overlook the San Fransisco Peaks are visible in the distance. You can also get a clear look at the youngest rock layer, Kaibab Limestone. The Kaibab Limestone contains permian era fossils and shark teeth!
